Wedding Registry Regrets

Looking back a year after the wedding, I have a wedding registry regret. Retrospect is always 20/20, right?

Register for what you want. This sounds obvious, but it it doesn't always work out how you think. For us, we really loved the Kita plates from Crate and Barrel. However, we felt bad registering for plates that were pricey. We didn't have anything coming into the marriage, and we were really hoping that our guests could help us make a dent in our needs; so we registered for a much cheaper set of plates. In the end, we received EVERY PIECE of dinnerware that we registered for, so I guess we made a good guess at the appropriate price point. However, I'm afraid that I'll tire of the design that we chose.

Another thing we really loved were Shun knives. Thinking that they were way out of anyone's price range, we registered for Wustoffs instead. We ended up receiving both sets of knives! Unfortunately, the Wustoffs came from my mother in law, so we felt compelled to keep those over the Shuns that we really wanted. At least the return of the Shuns allowed us to buy a Kitchenaid Pro mixer.
